Finally! An update… Via iPhone
Hi family friend and people that read this that I don’t know very well. Jenna said I should post so I’m going to do a mini post. My life has been getting more… Hectic.. That when I have free time, I forget that I have a blog. Anyways, one day I will get to posting pictures from Paris and some pictures of hadley becoming a big boy.
The only thing I feel is even worth writing about is how knowing Jesus is a journey and a hard. But I am finding myself joyful of the things from him and his story. But it really is clear how messed up I am. I am not normal. Normality is Jesus, not this world. And, I have learned and realize that I will loose some friends and be mocked by people I love because I want to live as a Christian.
Yet, if I am judgemental, self righteous, legalistic or just mean… That isn’t what Jesus calls me to be. I want to be more like Jesus, not religious nuts.
Bye

Food allergies
I got my test results back from my allergy test yesterday. It looks like dairy is my biggest problem. Than it’s pineapple, egg white, gluten/wheat, black olives and almonds. And squash.
I already knew that dairy and wheat was going to come back, but I didn’t think I was allergic to pineapple or almonds… and squash is suppose to be really good for you!
The next plan is to work on eating well, eating every three hours, and make sure I get enough protein.
I also need to start taking vitamin D supplements.
We’re leaving for Paris in less than two weeks, and I am going to eat the delicious baguettes and cheeses and wine.
Thats all for now.

Whatever you wanna call them..
John’s doing no meat for a while, so I made some dumplings with tofu, fresh shittake mushrooms, onions and chives. I got the recipe from manggchi.com.
I made triangles…

I made round ones…

I boiled the round ones…

And I fried the triangles…

They were actually very delicious even though there was no pork or beef in them! And they were pretty healthy except for the frying part. I just dipped them in soy sauce mixed with vinegar and red pepper flakes.
Dumpling night was a success!

It has been a long time since I’ve posted pictures! It’s also been a even longer time that I’ve written a real post. I’m not saying that it’ll happen today, but it’s in the back of my head to write something from my heart sometime soon.
One day, he started rolling to his side:

And a couple days later, he did it:

Then, he started walking! (well, with john’s help of course) But he made it down the whole hallway in his christmas suit which i will put on him until it doesn’t fit him anymore:

In the same week, he started holding his own bottle when John would feed him.

Sometimes on Monday or Thursdays nights, I have band practice at church. This week, John was sick so I took Harley with me to practice. There are lots of instruments, including organ and drums, so I tried to put some of these on him:

And as I started to get concerned that he would start loosing it, the guys helped me make a little blockage for the mat. The blanket was to keep SOME of the drums sounds out.

We’ve been going to my mom’s house every other week. She lives in Marysville, which is quite north, but it’s always worth the trip. He likes listening to me play piano. Someday, he’ll love running around her huge yard. Maybe someday, we’ll actually get him a pony. haha

These are some recent bath pictures. He still uses the lion towel. And he’s so sweet after a bath.

And couple weekends ago, we celebrated Allie’s, Harley’s 2nd cousin, 100th day!
Yay for healthy sweet babies!

That’s all the pictures for now, folks. If you could pray for Harley, that his little cold would not get as bad as John had it, we would be grateful.
As for myself and John, John’s been busy at work. But I know that he enjoys his job at the church, so i’m grateful he has that. I have gotten behind on my laundry at home (I wash and fold, but do not put away), so I should probably get on that.
Some of my girlfriends and I started doing a bible study together on thursdays. We are going through Hebrews right now, and it’s been one of the things i look forward to during my week. We also had a girls night on Friday night at the melting pot and queen anne. it doesn’t get better than that.
Harley’s up early from a nap, so I need to go. He’s already having a rough day. So I’m going to cuddle with him all day probably, and we’ll get to the laundry later
My life is simple right now, but i love the time of life i’m in. if i didn’t know jesus, i dont know where i would be. maybe doing drugs somewhere, running away from my family, not be harley’s mama… well, i’m grateful God chose me to know him. And i’m so thankful for john and harley.

Dakkangjung
I somehow discovered this lady that posts and teaches traditional korean cooking. Her website has inspired me to try cooking korean food by myself. Even though i grew up with korean food, i didn’t really learn from my mom, grandma or aunts. I guess i just didn’t really care. Oh Boy do i regret not paying attention
Anyways, the website I’m getting most of my recipes i try are going to be from www.maangchi.com.
This first one i tried is called “dak kang jung”. I know “dak” means chicken… or bird? it’s basically some awesome chicken wings.
Since the babe is crying, and since i followed the recipe perfectly, here’s the dakkangjung recipe.
And below are my pictures

And for the taste test….?
And he loved them. So i will make this again.
Except its fried… twice. So I’m probably only going to make this 1 or 2 times a year.
It gets really sticky too. But if we ever open a wings store, we’re definitely going to have this on the menu

On my last blogger blog, I wanted to start blogging about making Korean food. And now that I’m getting the hang of things at home with the babe, I feel like I have time to try more recipes and start cooking korean.
I’ll have recipes and pictures and experiences up in the Korean Food category. Hope you can enjoy some of the posts and maybe even try them yourself!

Holiday plans and celebrations
We went over to my cousin’s house this year for the most delicious thanksgiving meal we’ve ever had. It gave me some inspiration to try to make a thanksgiving meal maybe next year or the year after. we took our first family picture there.
we tried to make it look like those old fashion, serious pictures. but i couldn’t keep a straight face. John and harley did good being serious. notice how straight john is sitting up. hes so funny.
following that picture, we took a shot at taking a regular family picture.
i think this was our first picture we took all together since harley’s been born.
i wish i had some stuffing and turkey right now. yum.
Harley’s been learning how to sit on his own, so i put him in the cracks of the couch. He usually sits for a minute or two and starts to scoot himself down.
He likes to drool lately. but i don’t think its because he’s teething. i think its just because he keeps his mouth open.
With all this lovely time spent at home (which i still love), I’ve tried quite a bit new recipes. the picture below is john playing with harley while i’m cooking. Harley’s been wanting to stand and is doing a good job at keeping himself straight.

My favorite thing to put on him, is his little bear outfit. it keeps him warm and cozy. i LOVE it on him!

And last but not least, today, my sister and i played at the chapel at northwest college, and we got starbucks gift cards as thank yous. The card came in little mitten ornament holders, and they were perfect to put on Harley. So my sister gave me hers and now he has a cute pair of mittens.

Merry Christmas, everyone! Talk to you next year!
